Hey, I’m Nikki!
I’m a Birth and Postpartum Doula, and a Childbirth Educator.
- I deep dove into the birth world during my time studying social work and engaging with families in a counselling setting as they navigated pregnancy. That’s when I learned about these crazy cool birth companions that were changing the trajectory of the birth world – DOULAS. I wanted in on the hands on and emotional support that doulas were offering to women and their families during one of life’s hugest transitions – birth & postpartum.
- After finishing up my degree, I attended Fanshawe College and completed their Doula Studies Program.
- Since then I’ve been passionately supporting women and their families locally and globally, at home and in hospital, with OB/GYNs and with midwives through the beauty and messy of childbirth and beyond.
- I absolutely love journeying with families and I can’t wait to keep doing it for the rest of my life. It is a complete honour to be invited into peoples lives as they gain powerful, evidence-based knowledge about birth, as they bring new humans into the world and as they become fierce little families.
- Recently I’ve been expanding my repertoire to include doula-photography services as well as breastfeeding education because whoa…breastfeeding can be hard!
- Personally speaking, I’ve been with my complete nerd of a husband since we were 18 and it has been such a privilege to essentially watch each other grow up
- In 2020 we birthed our perfect little Hudson (also known as Huddy, Huddy Buddy, Hud Stud, Hudders, Hut Hut) and we are completely obsessed with him
- In my free time you can find me hand embroidering something cheeky, re-watching Grey’s Anatomy seasons 1-3 and drinking some kind of caffeinated beverage.

“In July 2021 I had the amazing opportunity to have Nikki as my doula. She helped so much with everything! She was so educational to prepare both my fiancé and I for birth, as well as was very supportive during my birth. Due to Covid restrictions at the hospital at the time Nikki was unable to attend the birth but was a phone call/ text away giving all the support she could. Nikki was so supportive during my post partum, in the early weeks of having my son with home visits, breastfeeding, and always being a text/call away, helping any way she could. As well as bringing meals for my family and I, as I was still trying to recover from a csection and balance a new life style of being a new momma. Nikki was very knowledgeable, supportive and answered any questions my fiancé and I had. She always brought a smile to my face even when I was tired, she brought pure joy in our visits! I loved every minute I had with Nikki and her experience in my sons early weeks of life!”
“My husband and I learned so much from Nikki. She is extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions throughout the course. She provided tips on how to manage pain and went over different labour movement and positions. We discussed post-partum and newborn care as well as a comprehensive discussion on breastfeeding and every step of the way Nikki was an empathetic and cheerful guide. I left feeling prepared and well equipped with resources to help me through labour and post-partum. I highly recommend taking her prenatal course!”
“I cannot think of another person more fitted to being a doula than Nikki. In the eight months she cared for my daughter, she demonstrated her astounding ability to care for and nurture babies. This is evident in the bond and relationship she built with my daughter. For this, I give my complete trust to Nikki and give her the highest possible recommendation as she expands her career as a doula. Any new mother or mother-to-be would be very fortunate to have Nikki guide them and provide them with the necessary prenatal, perinatal and/ or postpartum care.”
“My birth photos help to preserve the memories! I really enjoy looking through all the photos and reliving the day and I wish I could do that with my other two births! It’s also interesting to see things from an ‘outside’ perspective. Most of what I remember about that day is feeling frustrated and anxious, but when I look at the photos I see all the other things that were at play too. My husbands love and support, the midwives care and support, my own determination. The biggest thing that stand out for me from that day was when I said I was done and wanted to go to the hospital but that was obviously just a very small piece. I look through the photos and I fell like a fierce freaking warrior again!”
