Well hello there! I’m Ibukun.

And I love birth.

If you’re reading this, it’s likely because you’re expecting a new baby.  You’re thinking about what your labour and birth will be like, and how life will be after your baby has arrived.  You may be wondering how you’ll get through it all.

Friend, I completely understand what you’re feeling because I’ve been there too! And I’ve worked with many families who have gone before you.

I want to reassure you that you can do this!  You can have a really positive, beautiful, memorable, birth and postnatal experience that grows and changes you in meaningful ways.  They key is getting the rights supports along the way.  And this is where I come in.

My name is Ibbie, and like you, I have a many roles – I’m a pelvic and perinatal physiotherapist, a certified childbirth educator, a certified birth and postpartum doula, and a mom to five kids, all born at home!  Everything I do has a central theme, and that is to provide holistic support to women and their families as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – all such momentous moments in the journey that is life.

I came to birth work through the path of my career as a pelvic floor physiotherapist.  I worked with older women who had dealt with ongoing pelvic floor issues since birthing their babies decades ago.  I helped new young moms who were devastated and derailed by pelvic floor injuries they weren’t expecting to have from birth.  I witnessed first hand the statistic that 1 in 3 births is considered to be traumatic.  I observed that although there has been some change in how birth happens in this country, we still have a long way to go.

So I had to do something.  Not to be overly cliché, but I needed to be the change I want to see.   And I haven’t looked back.

I’d love to share more about my story – so if you’re curious, you can learn more about who I am over at The Mama’s Physio, which is my physiotherapy practice. I have a more robust bio, some client testimonials, and photos you can check out there.

Even more though, I love to help you and your family as you embark on (or continue) this journey of pregnancy, birth, and early parenting.  Girl, it’s a wild ride – and we need all the support, community, and love we can get!

Here for you.
